It affects all of us in one way or another. Everyone deals with it differently. Me, I eat my stress, usually in the form of chocolate. But lately, my stress reliever of choice has been gummy bears.
Not only do they taste good, and satisfy the need of comfort, but they take longer to consume than a bag of M&Ms. Another great feature is they are a soft chew, so while I am rocking ‘L’ to sleep I can indulge without waking my tired girl.
Not all bears are created equal.
Albanese Gummi Bears are by far the best out there!
12 distinct flavors and super soft chew. They come in a variety of sizes my favorite are the cubs, they are a mini version of the standard gummi bears. The only downside is they are hard to find unless sold in bulk food stores or specialty markets ( you will know they are Albanese, by the A on their bellies). But you can definitely order them online, and if you only like a certain flavor, no worries you can buy them by flavor! Sugar-free, they have those too. Check them out on Amazon, or go to the Albanese website to see all the varieties (they even have chocolate covered).
My next favorite brand is Black Forest Organic, the bears are soft, and each color has a distinct taste. Not to mention they’re organic so I don’t feel so guilty. If you are not into gummy bears, maybe you prefer worms, or you can get the best of both worlds and pick up a pack of Bears & Worms. I have found them at Target and Meijer, but if you can’t find them in the store you can always get them on Amazon.
Haribo Gold-Bears rank in last for me. They satisfy the need, but I find that all of the bears taste the same and they are stiff. I only get these due to convenience – it seems like everyone carries them and the price is decent. You can buy these online, but most of the time they are an easy find near the checkout or down the candy aisle of every grocery store in America.
I know that stress eating is emotional eating, it’s not healthy and I try to control it to the best of my ability. If your a stress eater here are some great resources to help understand your triggers and how to overcome them and eating alternatives.
