Beautiful chaos – a year of madness!

The year of beautiful chaos

Beautiful Chaos;

When things are stressful, crazy, busy, and more than you can really handle – but the outcome is worth the time.

Daycare Delima

First of all, we decided to put our daughter in daycare – she had been going to my mom’s every day, but the drive was too far, and traffic on the highway here after 5 pm is nuts. Between work and home schedules, my husband and I took numerous daycare tours, before we settled on a quaint in-home daycare that met all of our needs. Since starting there, our daughter has been thriving, she can count to 20, she knows her letters and shapes, and she is working on colors. She loves it.

We came, We saw, We wanted.

Then came summer.  When a house down the street from us had an estate sale. The house had been vacant for 3 years, as the owners went to live in a senior center since then, my husband and I had been eying it.  Once the estate sale sign went up we knew immediately wanted to take a peek.  We loved what we saw, It was exactly what we wanted in a home; a nice large ranch on a decent lot, with a pole barn. A few days later, the owners’ kids were there cleaning things up, I stopped by and told them we wanted to buy it.

The Move

The owners accepted our offer, and we had 30 days to sell our home. I took us two weeks to sell, and then we had to pack up and move. We painted, carpeted, had some electrical work done, in a week, and completed the move the following week. Though only 5 houses down, it was an overwhelming experience. Something, we don’t plan on doing again for a very long time. But, I love our new home. There are no barriers that our daughter can’t cross, laundry is on the first and only floor, and it flows nicely.

It’s Vegas Baby!

While all of that was happening, my older sister was getting married and I was the matron-of-honor. The wedding was in Vegas over labor day weekend, right in the midst of packing. I had a bachelorette party to plan, a dress to buy, a hotel to book, and plan tickets to purchase. My to-do list was a mile long, but it was for my sister, and that made it all worthwhile.  Our in-laws watched our daughter and the pooch and it was a nice getaway for my husband and me. Again, a little beautiful chaos.

A New Me.

Since I have met my husband, I have been steadily gaining weight, I work out, I eat healthy, though I am a stress eater… But I have PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome), Its a hormone imbalance that makes it hard to lose weight, and have kids.  Over the past few years, I have been contemplating weight loss surgery. This past spring I found out our Insurance would cover it, so I started the journey and attended a seminar.

I had a vertical sleeve gastrectomy (VSG) on November 7th, 2018 – two weeks after we moved into our new home.  Recovery has been going smooth, I’m a month post-op and I am down 20lbs and a whole pant size. I am looking forward to being able to play outside with my daughter in the spring and not running short of breath.

Adding food logging and being more concerned with our at home menu to my already busy-mom-schedule has not been easy. Though, once I am used to it, it will be a lifestyle.

Again, just more beautiful chaos.

I am looking forward to sharing more about this journey with you.

Less about me, more about you…

I know I have been off the grid a lot lately — but it’s going to change, I promise. I hope you will follow me on my weight loss journey, as well as making our new house a home, my quilting adventures, and even some graphics printouts on special occasions.  But relationships are a two-way street, and as my audience, I would love to learn more about you!

Reach out, share a story, your own journeys, struggles, and achievements.

Find the beauty in your chaos.
